How often do you sit with your emotions and allow yourself to truly process them? It takes some practice. Everyone is always in a rush to get to the next thing but our emotions ask us to be present and feel everything. In order to do this, we must not only learn how to identify our emotions but also intentionally create space for them. Because emotions are often solely attributed to feminine energy in our primarily patriarchal society, expressing or being greatly affected by them is too often equated with weakness. In reality, you have to be extremely strong to acknowledge your feelings and allow them to wash over you. We cannot move forward, we cannot create, and we cannot heal without first addressing our emotions. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
